The Scout first appeared in 1960, six years before the Ford Bronco and 7 before the Chevy K/5 Blazer. By the late sixties, these three were big competitors in the SUV market. The Scout II came in 1971, and updated it to better compete with the larger and more comfortable Blazer. It remained basically unchanged until 1980, the last year for Scouts. This Scout has the one year only rectangular headlights, and is slightly customized for off roading.
